IV FESNAD Congress

On November 4 we have the pleasure to participate in the IV Congress of FESNAD in the session dedicated to histamine and DAO deficiency. There will be 3 intense hours in which we will have Dr. M. Carmen Vidal, professor of Nutrition and Food Science at the University of Barcelona, who will talk about food histamine and give an overview of the main differences between intoxication and intolerance. Then we will continue with Dr. Eva Ruiz, from Genyca Genetics and she will update us on the genetic origin of the DAO deficiency, what are its genetic polymorphisms and how they affect its activity. Dr. María Luz Latorre, professor at the University of Barcelona, will explain the importance of other amines that influence histamine metabolism and, therefore, the difficulty of performing low histamine diets. To finish, Dr. Isabel Ojeda, allergist at the Ojeda Clinic in Madrid and Gda. Adriana Duelo, PhD Nutrition student at the University of Barcelona and director of AD Dietistas, will talk about histamine intolerance due to DAO deficiency from the allergologist point of view and its dietary approach, respectively.
